This month we will be discussing Byobu by Ida Vitale (translated by Sean Manning). In this book we get an insight into the consciousness of our protagonist Byobu through his observations of the world around him. At only 85 pages, Vitale skillfully harnesses poetic language in order to deliver insightful reflections on pleasure, curiosity, fear, and more through a beautifully interwoven collection of short stories.
